2. John Sales¹ was born estimated 1680. (Assumed age 25 when first child born (Joseph).)
He was a "poor man" on 5 Mar 1705.^2,3 He was probably drawing poor relief. Work might have been in short supply due to bad weather or the time of year. He was living in 1705 in Leigh, Kent.¹ His brother-in-law, John Medhurst's, will. He was living in 1706 in Leigh, Kent.¹ His sister, Mary Medhurst, née Sales, will. He died before 13 Sep 1722.⁴ He was buried on 13 Sep 1722 in St Mary, Leigh, Kent.⁴ "John Seenr" He is mentioned in his brother-in-law's will as brother to his brother-in-law's wife, Mary, and also as brother to Mary Medhurst, née Sales, in her will. Mary was born in the 1660s, so it is quite possible that John was also born around this time, married Elizabeth Miller earlier than thought, and had more children, though not in Leigh. We are researching the Edenbridge registers, as there appears to be a link via John's sister Mary's will. Other relevant options are Hever, Chiddingstone, Westerham, Brasted and Cowden in Kent, and Lingfield and Limpsfield in Surrey.

John Sales and Elizabeth (Eliza) were married before 1705. Elizabeth (Eliza) died before 16 Dec 1718.⁵ She was buried on 16 Dec 1718.^5,6 (Originally read year as 1713 in register, but could have been an unclear 8 instead of 3. 1718 agrees better with both the IGI information (that John and Eliza were Geo Sale's parents), and the year of George's birth.)
